MEET THE JUDGES

RULES

1. Productions must be submitted by an individual or project leader (e.g. director, producer, agent, distributor or teacher) who should be named as ‘ Principal Contact ' on the entry form.

2. The Principal Contact must be aged over 16 and under 30 on 21 st   November 2007 and be normally resident in the U.K.

3. Principal Contacts may make any number of submissions. Each and every submission must be accompanied by a completed and signed submission form and entry fee of £10.00. The fee is to cover administration costs and is not returnable. The fee is payable via cheque made out to ‘johnforrest.tv'.

4. The entry form must signify that the Principal Contact has obtained full clearance from all contributors and actors in the Production , as well as for any music or other copyrighted material used. This must be assignable to the Festival for the purposes outlined in rule 6 below.

5. Films may be up to a maximum of 30 minutes in length, including titles and credits. There is no minimum length.

6. By entering the Festival, the entrant agrees that Festival organisers may display the Production – or extracts from it - in connection with any current or future Festival activities. Such activities may involve distribution in any form, including the world-wide-web, DVD, broadcast or other forms of distribution, with no cost of material or of any rights liable to the Festival organisers.

7. Winning entries will be announced at the Insight Film Festival to be held in Manchester on Wednesday 21st November 2007. The Principal Contact will be entitled to one free entry ticket to the Festival Presentation. Notwithstanding, Festival organisers reserve the right to refuse admission to the event. Winning announcements will also be available on the Festival website for one month following this date.

8. Productions may be created in any moving audio-visual format (film, digital video, animation, flash, etc.) but must be submitted on DVD or VHS tape. We suggest DVD (DVD-R, DVD+R) at XP (Highest) quality (Full screen Hi-resolution). The Production title, length and Principal Contact must be clearly marked on the cover of each entry and the entry fee be enclosed with the submission. See Rule 3.

9. Entries are non-returnable and must arrive no later than Friday 28th September 2007 . The address for entries is INSIGHT Film Festival, Martin Harris Centre for Music and Drama, University of Manchester, Oxford Road, Manchester M13 9PL.

10. If productions are not in the English language, they should be subtitled in English, or accompanied by clear explanative notes in English.

11. As the Festival is still developing, organisers reserve to make and develop changes to all aspects without recourse. Any significant changes relating to the competition format will be communicated in writing to all bona fide entrants not later than fourteen days before the awards presentations.

12. The decision of the Festival judging panel shall be final and without right of recourse. In the event of any dispute, the competition organisers'
