Here are the Rules of Entry that are in force for submitting films to the PLURAL+ Insight Festival Award 2014.
Submitting a DVD via mail or hand delivery
Each package must contain:
➤ The fully completed entry form
➤ The DVD of the video. DVDs must display the name of the entrant and title in permanent marker.
DVDs must be sent to:
➤ Insight Film Festival: Z-arts, 335 Stretford Road, Hulme, Manchester M15 5ZA, UK
DVDs must arrive not later than noon (12.00 hrs) on Monday, 9 June 2014.
Submitting an entry via online tools
Each entrant must:.
➤ Upload a video file of the completed film (.avi, .mov, .wmf, .mp4, etc) via a file-transfer service to the email address email@example.com,
Video files must arrive not later than noon (12.00 hrs) on Monday, 9 June 2014.

➤ Entrants must be between the ages of 9–25 on 12 December 2014.
➤ The entrant is the one person responsible for submitting the video.
➤ Multiple young people may work together to make one video, as long as all members of the group are between the ages of 9–25.
➤ Other people involved in the making of the video (e.g. educators, teachers, instructors, etc.) may be over 25 as long as their creative role is limited (group coordination, technical support, renting equipment, etc.)
➤ If multiple young people work together on one video then the video will be judged in the age category of the eldest youth.
➤ Immediate family members (e.g. siblings, children and grandchildren) of jurors for the PLURAL+ or Insight Festivals are not eligible to enter the PLURAL+ video festival.
➤ Non-English videos must include English subtitles.
➤ Videos must be 5 minutes maximum running time, including title and end credits.
Consent and copyright
➤ Videos must be accompanied by a signed entry form.
➤ If the entrant is under 18, the entry form must be co-signed by the entrant’s parent, guardian, teacher or adult responsible for the entrant(s).
➤ The organisers may seek further written consent of the parents or legal guardians of the makers of winning videos.
➤ Entrants must get the consent of everyone appearing in their videos if their faces are recognisable.
➤ Entrants must get the consent of everyone whose music is used in their videos.
➤ Entrants must get the consent of everyone whose copyrighted, patented or trademarked material appears in their videos.
Use of the video
➤ The makers of the video will continue to own the rights of their videos, but they agree that the Insight Film Festival has unlimited use of the video as below.
➤ The Insight Film Festival reserves the right to exhibit submitted videos a limitless number of times in whatever format they deem fit in order to further the educational and promotional aims of the Insight Festival and of the PLURAL+ Festival.
➤ The Insight Film Festival reserves the right to use extracts of the video and the video makers’ names or likenesses in any related promotional or advertising venture without compensation to the entrant.
➤ The makers of the video agree to the possibility of wide multi-platform distribution of their submitted video, including broadcast, satellite, internet, film festivals and DVD.
➤ The decision of the Insight Film Festival judges shall be final and without right of recourse. In the event of any dispute, the competition organisers’ opinion shall be without right of recourse. Acceptance of these rules is a condition of entry of the video ‘material’, and receipt of material amounts to acceptance of the rules.
