Insight blogger, Kasia Wiśniowska, gives her inside view of From A to B and Back Again, directed by Andy Glynne.
The director of From A to B and Back Again came up with a creative idea for telling a particularly difficult story. Andy Glynne has combined animation and documentary audio together. We hear the memories of a young girl, now in her teens, and watch a dark tale created in the child’s mind.
It appears to be a story of a Christian family living in a Muslim country. It’s a story of great fear, misunderstandings, lack of peace, tolerance and happiness. It’s a story showing how people can turn faith and religion into a political game. It’s a story told by a scared child. How would you explain to that little girl that she is seemingly not accepted by others because her God has a different name?
I hope that, like me you’ll be attending the screenings at this year festival and to share your thoughts with fellow film fans!
