Insight workshop: BBC Writersroom

Posted on by admin

Interested in screenwriting? Ever wondered what happened to your script when you send it to the BBC? How they assess your work? What grabs them and what puts them off?

Henry R Swindell, New Writing Manager for BBC Writersroom North, provided some of the answers to these questions at a Festival workshop held on 17 March.

Henry is an experienced television producer and script editor. He has worked on popular British television drama serials, such as Coronation Street, Casualty and Hollyoaks.

BBC Writersroom is always on the look out for fresh, new talented writers of any age and experience – with an original voice and great stories to tell. BBC Writersroom North focuses on championing writers from across the North of England.

This workshop was a perfect opportunity for students and anyone else interested in screenwriting in the craft.

This event was free to attend, but places had to be reserved by booking through the Z-Arts website.
