Festival 4 coordinator, Rebecca Padley, talks about all aspects of volunteering for the 4th Insight Festival.
Without volunteers the Festival simply couldn’t happen. We are so grateful to the endless hard work of volunteers past and present. We want volunteering for Insight to be enjoyable and as beneficial to you as possible. As much as we need you, we want to ensure our volunteers have an enjoyable experience that’s beneficial to each of you.
In December 2012, Insight held a volunteer evening at Salford University. The event gave the Insight Team including John Forrest (Festival Director) the chance to meet volunteers personally, find out what they were interested in and show them what was on offer. There is such a huge range of things you can get involved with. Filming, photography, editing, marketing, blogging, stage and events management to name a few! And of course we need volunteers to steward and be part of the team during the Festival in March. This is going to be a really fantastic three days and having the support of volunteers makes the event what it is.
We’re building up a great team of Insight elves, at the moment we’ve got Insight volunteers working on all sorts of projects, including the writing, filming and editing of viral ads. If social networking takes your fancy, why not come on board and keep our Twitter and Facebook pages live and interactive? What discussions can you start? If you’re multilingual why not help us build up our international connections. Any ideas you have for Insight, we want to hear them.
We value our volunteers here at Insight highly and make every effort to get to know you all individually and make sure the experience is the best it can be.
